TWPS Beecroft Zone PSSA

What is PSSA sport?

PSSA stands for the Primary Schools Sports Association. Schools across Sydney and NSW are organised into zone groups. Thornleigh West Public School is part of the Beecroft Zone PSSA competition group.

How Are PSSA Teams Organised?

PSSA sport options are offered to all students in Year 3 to 6.

PSSA teams are organised according to age. Stage 2 (Junior) teams are for children who are in Years 3 and 4. Stage 3 (Senior) teams are for children who are in Years 5 and 6.

What PSSA sports are offered in our Zone?

Summer PSSA Sports (Terms 1 and 4)

League Tag and T-ball

Winter PSSA Sports (Terms 2 and 3)

Soccer – (Pennant Hills Park #2 & #3, Pennant Hills)

Netball – (Pennant Hills Netball Courts, Pennant Hills)

8- 12 students are chosen for each team. This number depends on the number of children who take the field of play, plus reserves.

Does every student make a PSSA team?

Unfortunately no. Soccer and Netball are the most popular sports with many students wanting to trial for these sports.

Yes, we understand this means there are students who are disappointed and upset.

These decisions are also difficult for our teaching staff who volunteer their time and effort in coaching PSSA teams.
